The Ukranian Ambassador received a standing ovation when he attended the House of Commons for Prime Minister's Question Time today.
He was welcomed by The Speaker, who said 'Your Excellency, we generally do not allow applause in this Chamber but, on this occasion, the House quite rightly wants to demonstrate our respect and support for your country and its people in the most difficult of times.'
There was also a Book of Solidarity with the Ukrainian Parliament which, along with colleagues from across the House, John was pleased to be able to sign. The book will be sent to The Speaker's counterpart, Ruslan Stefanchuk, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Parliament of Ukraine.
