Further to my previous note on the Great Wolf planning appeal I have been updated on the situation which is now as follows:
There have been calls for the Secretary of State to call in the Great Wolf application. However this is not possible as the decision has already been made by the Planning Inspector. Therefore the only other option would have been for interested parties to pursue a judicial review. Legal advice is that there are no viable grounds for this.
One of the key concerns is traffic and Victoria Prentis, in whose constituency the site lies, has met with the Highways Team at the County Council to discuss mitigation going forward. Victoria has also met with the Great Wolf team to discuss the plans and seek opportunities for local communities to get involved.
John said: “I know that concerns remain high and I am grateful to Victoria for the work she has done on our behalf in relation to this. I am pleased that she has been able to create opportunities for local residents to get involved and to raise their concerns directly with the developers. Past experience has shown that if everyone works together many concerns can be alleviated and potential problems relieved in planning stages. I continue to support Victoria in her work to get the best possible outcome for all involved.”
