I know that many communities had planned great celebrations for the commemoration of VE Day and that there is disappointment that we cannot join together for this. However, in true British spirit, many ideas for alternative ways for mark the occasion have come forward.
John said: “I know that much planning has had to be set aside but am delighted to see the creative ideas that have come forward to help us celebrate this important day despite our current restrictions. The Government and Parliament have also put together resources to help us celebrate which are set out below. I am grateful to everyone who has been planning and to those who have turned their hand to help us celebrate in different ways. I hope that we will all find ways to make this occasion.”
